Eriophyid Galls on Poison Ivy and Fragrant Sumac
The distinctive-looking eriophyid mite bladder galls produced by the so-called Poison Ivy Leaf Gall Mite on Eastern Poison Ivy are now apparent. The irregular, wart-like, light green to reddish-green galls arise from the upper surfaces of the leaflets. Heavily galled leaves may be twisted and deformed.
