It may seem early to think of Christmas Trees,
but a local Northwestern Ohio Christmas Tree Grower was honored for his Grand Champion Christmas Tree at the Ohio Christmas Tree Association tree contest at The Ohio State Fair.
Alan Binger, owner of Hidden Pines Christmas Tree Farm, located in Clyde, Ohio
won both Grand Champion
and Reserve Champion
as well as both Decorated
and Undecorated Wreaths.
All 20 trees and 10 wreaths are on display
The Ohio Department of Agriculture, Brian Baldride was one of the judges.
at The Ohio State Fair which runs July 29th through August 9th at The Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio.
The judging contest was held on Monday, July 27th, 2026.
The entries include 20 trees included 7 different varieties including White Pine, Blue Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Norway Spruce, Canaan Fir, Fraser Fir, Nordman Fir, and Concolor Fir, also referred to as White Fir.
The wreath categories included undecorated and a decorated category. Again, Hidden Pines Farms placed first in both categories.
The judging and display area took place in the brand-new Ohio State Fair Agriculture Building and Conference Center. It is a beautiful place, and all entries are displayed along with Ohio Christmas Tree Association information. If you attend the fair, be sure to stop in. And it is Air Conditioned!!

as well as Pre-Cut Christmas trees
and greens, swags, and wreaths.
And a gift shop
They open the day after Thanksgiving.
