This week we look at what some very durable choices for street trees. Oaks! There are some great choices that lend themselves to be used as street trees. There are also some Oaks you may wish to avoid, but if using appropriate cultural practices in pruning, you can minimize much of the risks.

The Ohio Woodland, Water and Wildlife (WWW) Conference has been a long standing tradition for natural resource professionals. The 2021 Tri-State Green Industry virtual Conference (GIvC) will be held via Zoom on February 4, 2021. After 80+ years as a premier annual face-to-face training event, it’s now an online virtual conference; we will be using the Zoom platform.

This week we look at what some very durable choices for street trees. Both Nyssa and Liquidambar can grow into large trees so may require adequate room if used as street trees. But some cultivars can make very nice street trees.
