Squash Vine Borers (SVB) (Melittia cucurbitae) are highly effective in squelching squash providing another form of relief from excessive Cucurbita. The stem-boring caterpillars cause plants to turn yellow, wilt, and die. Symptoms produced by the caterpillars are becoming apparent in Ohio.
