Staked Trees. Have you checked your trees lately?

You may have planted trees last year or the year prior. You may have staked them.

Now is a good time to check your trees before they start to grow this season.

On a recent walk, I noticed the tree on a tree lawn that was stake a while ago.

They forgot to take off the stake. I fear it’s too late.

If you’ve planted trees over the planted a tree in the past year or two, time to check your trees.

 

First, if they have been staked, time to check and remove?

What if you don’t? The tree may start to grow around the wire.

Also, the tree may have injury from the staking process.

Also check for damage branches.

Double check the trees to make sure you haven’t left any plastic labels or ties on the trees.

It can girdle the branch.

Plastic can hold moisture as well that can be an environment to harbor diseases.
