Get the latest updates as well as answers to your questions. This webinar provides a realistic look at the Box Tree Moth (BTM) (Cydalima perspectalis, family Crambidae), and its impact on its only plant host. You’ll hear from experts Dr. Theresa Culley (University of Cincinnati, Department of Biological Sciences), Courtney Fulks (Ohio Department of Agriculture, Asian Longhorned Beetle / Box Tree Moth Programs), and Joe Boggs (The Ohio State University Extension / OSU Entomology).
Joe will provide updates on BTM biology in Ohio, how to detect BTM, and how to effectively manage it in landscapes. Courtney will describe the BTM Compliance Agreement aimed at reducing the business impacts for nursery stock producers located within the BTM-regulated areas, while at the same time protecting those outside the regulated areas from BTM.
HRI-funded researcher Dr. Culley will share updates from her project, Genetic Tools for Development of Boxwood Cultivars Resistant to Box Tree Moth. This cutting-edge research is focused on using genetic DNA markers and molecular techniques to identify resistant boxwood cultivars, with the goal of providing nursery partners and the broader green industry with new, sustainable tools to combat BTM.

Don’t miss this timely opportunity to learn where things stand and what’s ahead for boxwood management and resistance development. Registration is free and open to all, but advance registration is required.
