What Is It?

Professional Training:  The Walkabouts are for Green Industry professionals (arborists, landscapers, turf managers, nursery managers, etc.). 

Comprehensive Participants look at plants, plant pests, plant diseases, landscape designs, and other points of interest.  Discussions focus on plant problem diagnostics, plant health management, plant selection, and sustainable landscape designs.

Hands-On The training is held outdoors; topics are viewed first-hand.

Real-World:  The Walk-Abouts reflect real-world landscape scouting; anything found on the Walk-Abouts is open for consideration!

Professional Credits:

The Mt. Airy Walkabout will earn the following credits.

OCNT: 3

LACES: HSW 3

ISA:  Certified Arborist-3, Municipal Specialist-3, BCMA-Science-1.5, BCMA-Practice-1.5

ODA   4A – 1.5 hr., 6A – 1.5 hr.

 

Time:  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Walkabout Location:

Mt. Airy Arboretum Office:  5083 Colerain Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223

Directions:

1. Turn into Mt. Airy forest from Colerain.

2. Bear right to stay on Blue Spruce Rd.

3. Turn right onto Arboretum Rd.

4. We will meet at the Arboretum Office at the end of Arboretum Rd.

5. Parking:

- Parallel parking spaces adjacent to Meyer Lake (pond) along Arboretum Rd.

- There are two lots at the end of Arboretum Rd. adjacent to the office.
