Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio has earned the title ‘The Roller Coast.’
But there is just as much thrill in the grounds as in the rides.
As a longtime patron of Cedar Point Amusement Park, I was always drawn by the rides.
But I have to come to appreciate the fantastic work of the landscape grounds crew, under the direction of Director of Horticulture, Martha Beverick.
The grounds provide thrills for horticulturists as well as walkers who visit the park.
The midway boasts many flower beds with annuals and perennials as well as unique trees and shrubs.
There are annuals,
Perennials,
Tropical flowers and foliage,
Trees,
Shrubs,
Ferns,
And beautiful settings to just relax or enjoy a bite to eat.
An overhead view from the Skyride reveals patterns and designs constructed from plant materials.
May locals visit the park to walk the grounds and for exercise.
Our family started visiting Cedar Point almost every year when I was young.
It has not lost its charm.
My siblings and I celebrated a reunion of sorts last summer at Cedar Point.
So, plan to visit. You will not be disappointed!
