Trees on Tap - OSU Green Industry Short Course Pre-Conference Workshop - December 5, 2016

You won't want to miss this year's Trees on Tap preconference workshop as part of this year's OSU Green Industry Short Course (GISC), formally the OSU Nursery Short Course. 

 

The preconference workshop will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Columbus Convention Center.  Registration will be begin at 9:00 am, with the program starting at 9:30 am.  The workshop ends at 4:45 pm, with a workshop reception to follow. 

 

The workshop's agenda include the following topics:  Why Trees Matter; Treesources Must-Haves; Silva Cell Project and Division of Forestry Updates; Principles and Practices of Site Amelioration and Plant Establishment; Trees for Tough Sites; and The Role of Trees In Sustain Environmental Quality, Human Health, and Human Wellness.

 

Speakers include:  David Nowak with the US Forest Service; Nina Bassuk with Cornell University; Tyler Stephenson with ODNR, Division of Forestry; and Jim Chatfield and Roger Rennekamp with OSU. 

 

Following the educational workshop, there will also be a Trees on Tap reception to continue conversations with speakers and participants, networking opportunities, and just talk-trees in a casual situation. 

 

The cost of Trees on Tap is $75.00.  Registration for the workshop and the entire conference is available online at  http://www.otfshow.org/registration/  The pre-conference workshop and the Green Industry Short Course is held in collaboration with the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation (OTF) Conference and Tradeshow.  The partnership has strengthened each individual conference by introducing more opportunities to increase your knowledge of trees and ornamental to turf. Whether you manage turf, trees or anything in between, the education conference is a can't miss event for the serious professional.  It is like getting to conferences for the price of one!
